Connecting Ideas, Systems, Data & Human Needs
My interdisciplinary background spans architectural engineering, design research, data science, and health informatics. I am interested in understanding complex systems and connecting ideas across disciplines to explore meaningful, human-centered solutions.
My doctoral research explored how design experts, including engineers and architects, think, communicate, and generate ideas during complex design processes, drawing on biological principles to inspire innovative solutions. This foundation continues to shape my approach to design thinking, interdisciplinary research, and systems-level problem-solving.
My work and research bring together systems thinking, human-centered design, analytics, and technology innovation. I view technology as part of a broader socio-technical system shaped by people, organizations, environments, and values.
Guided by ethics, equity, and empathy, and driven by enthusiasm for improving people’s quality of life, I am particularly interested in responsible AI that goes beyond technical performance to consider human needs, context, and meaningful human oversight. I explore how data, AI, and systems thinking can support better decision-making and address complex challenges in healthcare and society.
Beyond healthcare, I am interested in applying systems thinking and responsible innovation to sustainability, the circular economy, and resilient systems. Driven by curiosity about the deeper principles shaping human and technological systems, I explore how ideas from different disciplines can inform more thoughtful, responsible, and human-centered solutions.
